FPS is a compact Slip Ring mainly addressed for use in Flowpack Machines and other packaging machines. In the standard composition it includes 2 poles + PE for power transfer and 2 signal poles for transmitting the data from a temperature sensor. With its compact dimensions and the capability to reach high rotational speeds (up to 500 rpm) it can be applied in many high-speed machines. The easily performed maintenance, having quick and full access to the brushes and rings is certainly a unique feature of this product!

FAQ

What is the maximum rotational speed of FPS?

FPS can reach up to 500 rpm and is based on a double ball bearing system. The rings terminal board based on threaded rods with nuts directly welded on the rings, ensure safe and reliable wiring even at high speed.

What is the expected lifetime of FPS?

FPS has an expected lifetime of up to 500 million revolutions. Proper maintenance is essential to reach the highest possible lifetime.

How can the maintenance be done? How easy is access to the slip ring?

Serviceability is a huge plus of FPS. FPS has an easy access to the wiring and cleaning area. By simply removing the four screws of the cover, you have full access to the slip ring. The cover is keeping the wear dust in its lower part and removing it, the slip rings can be easily cleaned from possible residual dust which could remain on rings and insulators. If you prefer to remove the slip ring from the machine without opening it to perform the cleaning in another area of your plant to avoid any risk of contamination, an option with a separate chamber for wiring is available. With this option you can easily disconnect the slip ring from your machine, without opening the sliding contact section, then you can fully access it in a second step for perfect and safe cleaning.

How can FPS be installed and wired on the machine?

FPS has an easy installation on the rotating shaft of the machine, simply done with three socket set screws on the hub and an anti-rotation slot integrated in the slip ring external body. The wiring is extremely easy with a terminal board on rings based on threaded rods with nuts and fast-on connection on brushes side. Optionally a Spring Terminals connection is available on the brushes side.
